This play by Aaron Sorkin is classic courtroom drama. Its action moves between the Guantanamo Bay marine base in Cuba and a Washington DC. court martial room. The lead character, Kaffee is the son of a famous trial lawyer. Kaffe is a young inexperienced naval lawyer, who is assigned to defend two marines accused of the murder. As the story unfolds, he gradually builds experience and realizes that higher ups in the chain of command are also implicated, as also is the mentality inculcated into the marines by their training.
The story has many near parallels in recent stories about illegal killings by soldiers and attempts by higher ups to cover up the details. the dialogue is funny and clever. It keeps the audience riveted as the plot unfolds.
